Rust Converter Aerosol

Turns Rust to Black Primer. Dries to a hard, sandable, paintable primer. Inhibits further corrosion & can be used with body filler. For use on all iron and steel surfaces.

Directions for use

1. Remove loose rust and scale with coarse (50 grit) sandpaper or wire brush. Clean off any grease, salt, dirt, or oil from surface. Before applying this product, wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

2. Shake can well before use. Hold it in an upright position 8-10 inches from surface. Point arrow on button away from you and spray rusted surface with 2 to 3 light, even coats, allowing 2 minutes drying time between coats. To avoid runs and sags, do not apply heavy coats of Rust Converter.

3. Final application should dry to a primer finish. Allow converted coating to dry for 24 hours, while protecting it from rain or dew. For a smooth finish, sand with 320 grit sandpaper before topcoating. Apply topcoat following paint manufacturer’s instructions.

IMPORTANT: Carefully read all cautions and directions before use. Protect hands with chemicalresistant gloves and eyes with chemical splash goggles.

HELPFUL TIPS: This product will stain hands. All rusts are not the same due to moisture content and weather exposure. This causes variations in the color produced. For best results, apply at temperatures between 50° and 90°F and avoid direct sunlight and strong breezes. >
