Directions for use

1.  Wear chemical-resistant gloves and chemical splash goggles.  2.  Shake can well - pour stripper into a metal container and apply with a brush. 3. Apply the heaviest possible coat of stripper with an applicator brush or nylon bristle brush. Do not brush back and forth. Paint is always much thicker in grooves. Recoat grooves to allow stripper to penetrate to the bottom of the groove. Check for dry spots and apply stripper to those areas. 4. GIVE THE STRIPPER TIME TO WORK! Many coats of old paint may require several minutes before removal. The time required varies with the thickness and type of coating. Even if another coat of stripper is necessary, wait until bottom coat is completely dissolved before scraping. 5. Use a paint scraper or plastic putty knife to scrape off dissolved finish. Clean carvings and grooves with a furniture stripping brush or scrub brush. Use dry #2 coarse steel wool to scrub stubborn spots. 6. Reapply a light coat of stripper. The chemicals are essential to the cleaning process. Make sure the finish is completely dissolved before washing. 7. TO RETAIN NATURAL COLOR AND PATINA do not use water.  Scrub with mineral spirits and coarse steel wool. Use brush to clean grooves and wipe clean with a dry cloth. 8. TO REMOVE STAIN, scrub with water using coarse steel wool on flat surface; use brush on grooves. Rinse with clean water and wipe with dry cloth. Let dry 24 hours after washing with water before sanding or finishing.
